We are looking for an experienced Group Accountant who is passionate about technical accounting and excited by the challenge of building group consolidations and reporting frameworks from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to join a private equity-backed group with significant growth plans, aiming to scale 5x over the next four years.
As Group Accountant, you will work directly with the Group Financial Controller to shape and deliver a best-in-class financial control environment across multiple acquired businesses. You will thrive on applying technical accounting expertise to complex group structures, designing and implementing standardised policies, processes, and systems that enable consistent, accurate, and audit-ready reporting.
What you will do:
* Deliver high-quality monthly management accounts for individual entities and consolidated group results
* Build and maintain a robust group consolidation process and drive continuous improvements in reporting
* Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and coordinate successful group audits
* Provide clear, practical technical accounting advice across the group (UK GAAP, with future potential for IFRS)
* Integrate newly acquired businesses into a unified, scalable financial control framework
* Develop and maintain group accounting policy manuals and chart of accounts
* Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and efficiency gains
* Coach and support local finance teams to build capability and ensure consistent, high-quality reporting
* Oversee regulatory submissions (VAT, PAYE, CT, ONS) and support group treasury activities
What you will bring:
* A strong technical accounting background with experience of multi-entity group consolidations
* Expertise in statutory reporting and group audits
* A proven ability to build accounting frameworks and policies from scratch
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail
* The confidence to drive improvements, challenge the status quo, and deliver change in a dynamic, growing business
* A collaborative and supportive approach to developing teams and sharing technical knowledge
