Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Role/Purpose:
The Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Field Service Engineers (FSE) are responsible for providing world-class support to customers through start-ups, audits, maintenance, repair, and training of Safeline x-ray, metal detectors, or Hi-Speed Checkweighers. PI FSEs manage all aspects of field service support, including communication with customers and the service department, effective scheduling, detailed report and documentation preparation, and maintenance of job assignments, always following MT PI procedures and best practices.
The Field Service Technician is responsible for:
* Satisfying all safety requirements for both MT-PI and customer sites
* Attending daily tier calls led by a Regional Service Manager
* Executing scheduled service calls efficiently, considering cost, time, and customer needs
* Developing and maintaining good customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor
* Identifying root causes of service issues (first-time fix)
* Completing and submitting all service reports and documentation timely
* Keeping up with ongoing technical training
* Working weekends/after hours as required
* Traveling overnight as needed (up to 100%)
* Maintaining company equipment, tools, and inventory
* Following the company's Code of Conduct and maintaining professional appearance
* Performing other duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed
This position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Proficiency with hand tools and digital test equipment
* Knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and distribution systems
* Mechanical knowledge of conveyor systems
* Understanding of AC and DC electrical systems
* Familiarity with Windows OS, reading blueprints and schematics
* Self-motivated with a focus on high performance
* Strong communication skills
* Customer-focused and detail-oriented
* Experience in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines
* Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus
Minimum Education/Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Associate degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience preferred
Physical Demands & Work Environment
* Work around moving mechanical parts in various environments, including cold, hot, humid, damp, or explosive settings
* Operate industry machinery and tools, lift up to 75 pounds, climb stairs/ladders, and work in tight/dark spaces
* Travel extensively within the US and internationally, possessing or obtaining a valid passport and driver's license
