About the role
This role is within Tesco's PPMO (Project Portfolio Management Office), supporting Finance Change & Enabling Functions Technology. Working in the Governance & Standards team, you will establish and maintain consistent standards across the Finance Change portfolio. Collaborating with Finance Change Delivery teams and the wider PPMO team, you will ensure effective governance and uphold quality assurance standards. As the team's specialist, you'll review and improve these standards and leverage your coaching and communication skills to ensure their consistent application.
Responsibilities
* Governance & Standards: Ensure consistent application of the Finance Change delivery methodology across programmes and projects; conduct gate assurance reviews for portfolio governance approval.
* Management: Collaborate with the program management team to maintain standards and develop best practices.
* Advisory: Work with Project Managers and PMO Managers to ensure project artifacts meet standards and are securely shared; provide coaching on project management best practices, standards, and tools.
Minimum Requirements
* Experience in Programme and Portfolio Management Office, with understanding of PMO processes and delivery methods.
* Formal Portfolio/Programme/Project Management Qualification (e.g., P3O, MoP, MSP, APM) is desirable but not mandatory.
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
* Excellent stakeholder management, coaching, presentation, and communication skills.
* Ability to manage shifting priorities and challenge decisions/data confidently.
* Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, and other collaboration tools.
