3 Month Contract with a local Authority Job Purpose As part of the Property & Estates Team co-ordinate and deliver a comprehensive Estates Management Service in managing and developing key assets including the commercial portfolio, strategic land holdings and development sites, ensuring that the Council’s financial returns are optimised and long-term interest is safeguarded in accordance with the Development and Asset Management Strategies. Key Duties/Accountabilities Manage a diverse property portfolio including commercial, residential, and operational assets. Undertake lease negotiations, rent reviews, lease renewals, and property disposals/acquisitions. Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and internal policies. Conduct property valuations for accounting, insurance, and strategic purposes. Monitor and report on income generation and expenditure across the estate. Support budget planning and forecasting related to property assets. Contribute to the development and implementation of asset management strategies. Identify opportunities for estate rationalisation, income generation, and cost savings. Advise on property investment decisions and portfolio optimisation. Oversee property-related projects including refurbishments, disposals, and acquisitions. Manage external consultants and contractors, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality. Prepare and present business cases and project reports. Liaise with internal departments, tenants, external partners, and legal advisors. Provide expert property advice to senior management and elected members. Represent the organisation in negotiations and public forums. Ensure properties meet health and safety, environmental, and legal standards. Maintain accurate property records and ensure data integrity Essential Experience Required. Experience of working in a team. Demonstrable experience and knowledge of Landlord and Tenant Law and practice Experience of analysing and conveying complex information to a number of different audiences. Significant experience of property case management. Experience of developing and managing a strong customer service culture. Essential Qualifications Required Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant subject. RICS qualified. Additional information to note This role is 36 working hours per week.
