Opportunities to work within a supportive environment within Acute and General Internal Medicine specialties based at The Countess of Chester Hospital. The specialties you may work within are, Care of the Elderly, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology & Diabetes, or General Medicine depending on service needs and preferences. The Division is committed to providing a training environment to support post holders in sitting specialty exams.
This post will provide excellent experience and training opportunities and would be ideal for doctors who have completed foundation training or equivalent and are wishing to gain experience within hospital medicine. The post-holder will be allocated a Supervising Consultant with regular meetings to discuss educational goals and achievements. You will be expected to participate in regular teaching aligned with your level of experience.
The successful applicants may be required to cross cover within various medical specialties. Posts involve participation on one of the General Medicine on-call rotas.
Please note that this post is for 18 months in the first instance.
Experience in an NHS role at or above the F2 level or higher in a paid position, or completed an NHS clinical attachment for a duration of 3 months or more.

* Assessment of new patients.
* Planning medical treatments and outpatient investigations.
* Attendance on ward rounds and providing medical opinions for other specialties when needed.
* Completion of discharge summaries.
* Providing senior support to junior team members, especially for deteriorating patients or procedures.
* Assisting with other aspects of patient care as appropriate.
* Attending outpatient or ambulatory clinics as directed.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust serves West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust collaborates within the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Services are provided from three locations:
* The Countess of Chester Hospital: 438 beds
* Ellesmere Port Hospital: 56 beds for rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient services
* Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: community services for the local rural population
The Trust employs over 5,916 staff, providing a wide range of services to a population of approximately 411,000 residents, including Chester, West Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston, and parts of Flintshire.
