Electrical Design Engineer – Hybrid
Location: North Yorkshire
Salary: Circa £35,000 - £45,000 basic + benefits.
This is a full‑time, permanent position based at the client’s North Yorkshire office, with the potential to work hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expertise and support to clients’ customers throughout their journey.
* Coordinate with internal and external colleagues to tailor existing products into solutions meeting agreed objectives.
* Interface with the UK & International sales team to accurately capture customer requirements from a technical perspective, creating a technical concept.
* Translate a customer’s technical concept into a tangible solution after a sales order has been placed.
* Support the implementation process, liaise with cross‑functional teams, and enable manufacturing or procurement teams to fulfil necessary activities.
* Provide technical oversight and sign‑off of any mass‑production or solution.
* Provide technical customer support post‑manufacture (e.g., production lines, quality assurance).
* Occasionally travel to client sites to answer technical queries or review product implementation.
* Ensure solutions are of high quality, meet safety standards, are delivered on time, and stay within budget.
Qualifications
* STEM‑related degree preferred.
* Understanding of automotive, mechanical, and electrical engineering domains.
* Skilled CAD user capable of creating detailed technical drawings and schematics.
* Ability to design and analyse electrical circuits, considering component selection, voltage levels, and current flow.
* Effective communicator comfortable liaising with customers to understand pain points and identify best‑fit solutions.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills for creating detailed, presentable customer‑facing documentation.
* Understanding of commercial and engineering drivers and constraints.
* Experience with induction loop/antenna systems.
