2. Provide a full and comprehensive Medical Secretarial Service, including timely audio typing of clinic letters, letters, documents/presentations and compilation of administrative letters as required by the Consultant(s) and respective Team(s)

Education, Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
3. GSCE Grade C or above/equivalent in English Language
4. RSA II Typing, or equivalent
5. Medical Secretarial Couse, Medical Terminology Course, or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Experience of working within the NHS in a similar setting
7. Experience of working within a busy office environment
8. Experience of Microsoft Word
9. Experience of working in an environment dealing with highly confidential data
Skills, Abilities & Knowlegde
Essential criteria
10. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
11. Good written and telephone communication skills, to enable liaison with staff at all levels
12. Ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload
13. Skilled in working in a team
14. Knowledge of Data Protection Act 1998, ability to maintain patient confidentiality
15. Ability to cover the other duties of Secretarial staff within the Department
16. Knowledge of Trust information systems
Special Circumstances
Essential criteria
17. Willing to travel between the three main hospital sites within the Trust
18. Able to maintain a flexible approach to the role and duties
