An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established, specialist provider to the Marine sector, based in Central Scotland. This role offers end-to-end involvement across the full project lifecycle, including electrical hardware control panel design, PLC integration, final testing and commissioning, and the production of high-quality technical documentation, all within a collaborative, project-driven environment.

Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
* Development of electrical panels containing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), LV modular distribution systems incorporating MCC’s, Transformers or Switchboards.
* Involvement throughout whole lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and configuration, and documentation (working throughout to full QA procedures)
* Bid support, travel for technical input, customer liaison, input to sales proposals
* Working within project team to customer deadlines
* Providing technical support and guidance to a team of 2 Electrical Engineer’s
* Design of electrical cabling and containment systems
* Able to develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
* Good customer facing skills
* Knowledge of the full project lifecycle
* Innovative hardware background
* Passion for engineering with significant experience to draw from
* Ideally a solid understanding of PLC system software and how it integrates into the panel
* Any experience of AutoCAD would be highly advantageous – other mainstream electrical CAD packages (i.e. EPlan) also easily transferable
* Instrumentation background highly preferred, as well as industry background of Marine / Oil & Gas / Water
