Senior Leisure Attendant
Castle Douglas Swimming Pool
£14,.13 - £14,.88
You will be required to work 19.5 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.
We are looking for a motivated and positive individual to join our team at to Castle Douglas Swimming Pool.
As a Senior Leisure Attendant you will ensure our customers have the best experiences possible whilst using our facilities. To do this you will use your people skills and supervisory experience to motivate and encourage staff within the facility to work together in delivering high quality leisure services as part of the wider Lifelong Learning and Wellbeing team.
You will be responsible for shift control, lifeguard rotations and supervision, completion of operational check sheets, liaising with customers and assisting to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
You will also work with your team to promote customer uptake of other services, activities and promotions available within our facilities.
The position will include evenings and weekend work.
Candidates must also have good interpersonal skills; be able to work effectively as part of a team and have experience of working in a supervisory capacity.
Possession of a National Pool lifeguard Qualification, Pool Plant Operators Certificate and First Aid at Work Certificate are desirable.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. From 28 February, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
Successful candidates must have a flexible approach regarding hours worked in order to suit the needs of the service.
