Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive General Property Caretaker & Handyman to oversee the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of a designated residential property portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring properties are well-maintained, safe, and presented to a high standard.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone practical, trustworthy, and capable of working independently while maintaining clear communication with property management.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out general maintenance and handyman tasks across residential properties
* Responding to routine maintenance requests and minor repairs (e.g. plumbing, electrics, carpentry, painting)
* Conducting regular property inspections and identifying maintenance issues proactively
* Maintaining communal areas, gardens, and external spaces where applicable
* Managing basic health & safety checks and reporting compliance issues
* Coordinating access for contractors and supervising works when required
* Keeping accurate records of maintenance tasks and repairs
* Ensuring properties remain clean, secure, and in good working order
Requirements
* Proven experience in property maintenance, caretaking, or handyman work
* Strong practical skills across a range of trades
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Professional, respectful manner when dealing with residents and stakeholders
* Full UK driving licence (required)
* Basic knowledge of health & safety regulations
Desirable:
* Experience working with residential property portfolios
* Trade qualifications or relevant certifications
