As we develop an enterprise-wide Digital Factory strategy to transform our business, we are seeking an Insurance Technical Architect with proven Salesforce background. The Insurance Technical Architect is a hands-on, execution focused role helping translate the Insurance strategy, define architecture, and deliver the solution. In this role you will have an understanding of our Insurance systems and processes and function as an Insurance architecture subject matter expert for our various projects. Your expertise in Insurance products will help guide and reimagine solutions for US, APAC, Europe and Lloyd’s insurance.

The position is responsible for providing I.T. leadership and solutions for major transformation programs. Major focus for this role is to provide technical leadership in AXA XL Insurance application changes and data flow and oversee delivery of technical changes. Will need to work collaboratively with vendor resources. An ideal candidate for this role is expected to have an effective hands-on technical leadership in Salesforce, Microsoft .Net VB.Net/C# .Net, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, WCF, Web API, MS Azure.

What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?


* Responsible for the design and technical delivery of the Salesforce Underwriting Workbench product.
o Producing quality, secure, scalable, high-performing, and resilient designs for new or improved services
o Lead the systems analysts, developers, and testers in sympathetic change to the applications
o Responsible for partnering with engineers, DevOps engineers, Administrators, and other roles responsible for implementing solutions on Azure to ensure sound infrastructure solution options are leveragedAccountable for leading technical project delivery within the applications landscape
o Responsible for providing DevOps Standards across the value streams and designing the CI/CD pipelines and the automated deployment and gating mechanisms
* Responsible for handling multiple tech initiatives in Agile delivery models.
* Actively lead the development teams to help assist PI planning and prioritization.
o For internal assets, support Product Owners to develop and maintain the Product Roadmap
* Define and maintain development standards such as system and data design, coding, etc.
o Maintain a capacity plan with historical performance metrics, a future forecast, and a capacity model to ensure services and infrastructure deliver performance and growth targets in a cost effective and proactive manner
o Manage architecture exceptions for the application, including identifying, documenting, taking through exception approval process, and remediation where and when possible
o Monitor application services to ensure performance consistently meets non-functional requirements (response time, security, etc.)
o Leads the DevOps team and developers in targeted use of DevOps for their application platform assets.
The Technical Architect reports to the Release Train Engineer (Delivery Lead)

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

* Substantial hands-on experience in Salesforce, Microsoft .Net VB.Net/C# .Net, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, WCF, Web API
* Have prior experience leading or implementing CRM, Underwriting and Claim solutions.
* Proficiency with working in Agile delivery model
* Experience with MS Azure or AWS.
* Prior work experience in an insurance field preferred
* Uphold technical integrity of internal assets at the logical and physical level, ensuring designs and changes done based on a developed architectural foundation.
* Experience leading and mentoring development and architecture professionals
* Lead the analysts and developers in sympathetic technical change to the product
* Assist to identify proactive maintenance work
* Develop, own and publish the product technical architecture and design documentation
* Identify technical resources required to deliver the service and maintain plans for the short-, mid-, and long-term to support business cases for technical investments (upgrades, etc.)
* Translates the high-level designs into the technical specifications to facilitate efficient and effective development and unit testing
* Must be able to set priorities and multi-task
* Adaptable to new/different strategies, programs, technologies, practices, cultures, etc. Comfortable with change, able to easily make transitions.
* Advanced skills in developing tools, frameworks and processes intended to maximise software quality and minimise time-to-delivery
* Ability to mentor and guide developers on software architecture
* Solid understanding of contemporary systems design

Education And Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, business management, or a related field preferred
* Ability to work independently with less supervision is required.
* Able to organize self and others including effective scheduling, prioritization, and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines.
* Proven track record to provide a consistently first-class customer service internally and/or externally
* Ability to build effective working relationships (Internally/Externally), establishing credibility amongst a wide and demanding client group
* Comfortable taking ownership and accountability for own work and for the team, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team
* Excellent verbal/written communication skills are required.
