The Opportunity
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Site Manager to join the delivery team on a prestigious £40m life sciences project in Surrey.
This scheme represents a technically advanced and highly serviced MEP installation across laboratory, cleanroom, and research environments. The successful candidate will take ownership of the mechanical delivery on site, overseeing installation, coordination, and commissioning to ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
Programme & Delivery
Manage the mechanical scope, ensuring alignment with design, specification, and project milestones.
Lead day-to-day site delivery, driving progress through short-term lookaheads and effective resource planning.
Coordinate closely with electrical and architectural trades to manage interfaces and maintain programme flow.
Track progress against programme and support project management with reporting and forecasting.
Quality & Technical Assurance
Oversee mechanical installation to ensure full compliance with project standards and client expectations.
Manage testing, commissioning, and QA documentation to achieve a right-first-time approach.
Ensure all plant and materials are ordered, stored, and controlled effectively.
Maintain accurate redline and as-built information for handover.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Champion a strong safety culture across all site activities.
Ensure all RAMS, permits, and statutory requirements are in place and adhered to.
Conduct regular site inspections, briefings, and toolbox talks to maintain compliance.
Team & Subcontractor Management
Lead and coordinate supervisors, operatives, and subcontractors to achieve programme and quality objectives.
Build strong working relationships with the main contractor, consultants, and client representatives.
Support and mentor junior staff, promoting a collaborative and accountable site culture.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager who brings:
Proven experience managing mechanical delivery on large MEP or life sciences projects.
Strong technical understanding of HVAC, process services, and critical environments.
Excellent planning, sequencing, and leadership skills.
A proactive, safety-conscious, and quality-driven approach to project delivery.
SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and relevant mechanical qualifications
