Hours: Night Shift 4 on 4 off shift pattern (e.g., 18:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Salary: £13.84
Job Purpose:
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the site during night operations, ensuring the Centre is clean, safe, and ready for use the following day.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
1. Carry out scheduled nightly cleaning tasks in line with site specifications
2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and machine-clean floors as required
3. Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, kitchens, and welfare facilities
4. Dust, wipe, and sanitise surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and touchpoints
5. Clean glass, mirrors, doors, and high‑traffic areas
6. Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely in line with COSHH regulations
Waste Removal & Environmental Duties
7. Collect, segregate, and remove waste from designated internal areas
8. Transport waste to bin stores or waste compaction areas safely and securely
9. Ensure waste streams are correctly separated (general, recycling, food, cardboard, etc.)
10. Breakdown cardboard and manage recycling efficiently
11. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within bin stores and waste holding areas
12. Report contamination, damaged bins, spillages, or waste issues to the supervisor
13. Follow site waste management procedures and sustainability guidelines
General Responsibilities
14. Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls
15. Report maintenance defects, vandalism, or health & safety hazards promptly
16. Comply with all Health & Safety, PPE, fire safety, and security procedures
17. Secure areas and equipment at the end of each shift as required
Essential:
18. Previous cleaning experience (commercial, office, or industrial preferred).
19. Ability to work night shifts and maintain punctual attendance.
20. Awareness of health and safety and hygiene standards.
21. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
22. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable:
23. Experience using cleaning machinery/equipment.
24. Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
25. Experience in commercial, retail, or large public environments
