Commissioning Engineer
Location: Guildford Area
Salary: Circa £60,000 + Benefits
Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Site based 5 days per week
An opportunity has arisen for a Commissioning Engineer to join a growing team delivering a programme of AMP8 water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Thames Water region. This role will play a key part in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant commissioning of new and upgraded assets across multiple sites.
Working closely with project delivery teams, designers, subcontractors and operational stakeholders, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing commissioning activities to ensure systems are brought into operation safely and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and manage commissioning activities across water and wastewater projects
Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures and documentation
Work closely with construction, design and operational teams to ensure successful asset handover
Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities on site
Ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety and environmental standards
Identify and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning phases
Support integration and testing of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems
Maintain accurate commissioning records and support project documentation and handover
About You
Experience in commissioning within the water or wastewater sector
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and process systems within treatment works or pumping stations
Experience working on infrastructure or utilities projects
Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage site-based activities
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
Full UK driving licence
