About the opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Author to join our integrated joint venture team on the TDA Framework at Sellafield
The main goal of this framework is to assist in the decommissioning of the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd’s owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). .
As a result of an increasing portfolio of projects, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technical Author to join the team in Westlakes Industrial Estate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Produce a suite of compliant documentation within defined time frames.
2. Interrogate engineering / design and vendor information to produce trade pack scope documents.
3. Attend progress meetings and provide weekly progress updates.
4. Ensure quality standards, and consistency are applied throughout the range of produced documentation.
5. The maturity of the engineering work provided to base the MPB upon is understood and configuration controlled, including change control and adjustments where the engineering develops further between going to market for pricing and agreeing the MPB.
6. The engineering work to deliver the MPB is planned and balanced appropriately against delivery of the main project engineering work.
Here's What You'll Need:
7. Experience of Major Projects, ideally including experience of governance approvals and stakeholder environment.
8. Experience of pricing work, significant bids to clients, or delivery of significant projects to time and cost in a commercial environment.
9. Experience of Engineering delivery across the project lifecycle and across all engineering functions including security and safety case. (does not require an engineering specialism or deep technical knowledge – but needs sufficient experience to lead in an engineering environment)
10. Ideally good understanding of engineering maturity particularly around Hazop and detail design gate.
