About the Role
Director of Painshill – a historic Grade I listed garden covering 160 acres and drawing around 180,000 visitors a year – who will lead the organisation into its next chapter by safeguarding Hon. Charles Hamilton’s vision, driving a forward‑thinking strategy, elevating Painshill’s profile as a world‑class heritage destination, and ensuring long‑term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire the dedicated team of staff and volunteers across all organisational functions.
* Enhance the visitor experience throughout the landscape garden.
* Grow income through membership, fundraising, partnerships, commercial activity, and other revenue streams to support public engagement and conservation.
* Develop and deliver education programmes, community engagement initiatives, events, retail operations, and filming opportunities.
* Drive a forward‑thinking strategy in partnership with the Board of Trustees to broaden Painshill’s reach and impact.
* Maintain the heritage and conservation integrity of the site while exploring innovative opportunities to achieve long‑term sustainability.
