10 Months Fixed Term Contract, Full Time (35 hours per week)

About the role

Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust are now searching for a Finance Income Officer to provide a value-added end to end income collection and debt management service for a range of JRHT sites & services with a key focus on site team revenue and other income collection.

You’ll process ledger transactions including cash handling and banking at multiple sites, raising sales invoices/credit notes and journals, managing income reconciliation and rents and reconciliations and provide operational support for income collection.

You’ll work closely with relevant colleagues to manage the tenancy management functions on behalf of one residential care homes. This involves setting up tenancies on our housing system and facilitating a smooth move in process regarding payments and income collection.

About you

As our Finance Income Officer, we’d like you to hold a qualification in accounting/book-keeping or have previous experience of working within a finance environment, able to demonstrate relevant and recent experience of double side finance transactional processing; use of ledgers, controls and apply compliance to transactional processing, preferably in income collection/sales ledge. You’ll have good knowledge of Finance IT Systems and good operational knowledge of double-sided book-keeping including experience of sales ledger, banking and basic accounting transactions including journals, raising invoices and complex income reconciliations.

With excellent levels of accuracy and numeracy and the ability to understand and work on finance data, you’ll have demonstrable ability to build relationships and engage a wide variety of stakeholders (for example council finance teams, social workers, NHS professionals, commercial customers, residents and internal colleagues). You’ll have proven experience of acting as first point of contact with relation to customer or resident queries, dealing with complex or sensitive problems including handling disputes, you’ll be able to problem-solve complex workloads effectively, creatively and with a flexible approach and demonstrate a solution-based outlook

You’ll have excellent organisation skills, able to manage time, workload and priorities effectively including task setting up to 6 months in advance and have excellent working knowledge of IT packages with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook and intermediate level of MS Word to include regular use of mail-merge, advanced formatting and complex formula functions.
