We have an exciting opportunity to join Bradford District Care Foundation Trusts Early Intervention Psychosis service as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist. The successful applicant will play an active role in shaping and supporting the work the service undertakes with service users and families.
Bradford EIP is a nationally recognised, top performing mental health service, specialising in the support of people with, or at risk of developing psychosis. The successful applicant will be joining a supportive, forward-thinking service with a rich history for delivering high quality care through a Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual approach.
We are looking to recruit the right person for the role and in doing so are also offering the role to those currently undertaking the Systemic Family Therapy MSc on an initial fixed term development Band 6 preceptorship before progressing to Band 7. To apply in this capacity, candidates must currently be in year 1 of the MSc, graduating in 2025.
Interviews have provisionally been identified to take place week commencing 3rd June, this may however be subject to change.
Main duties of the job
A core element of the role involves working systemically with social difference and diversity. The service works to a model of the whole MDT delivering Family Interventions. Our family offer range includes psychoeducation, carer support, structured family interventions and systemic psychotherapy.
The role involves a consultative and training role in supporting the team with their skills and confidence in working with families. You will work within a team approach and closely with the family intervention lead and carer development support worker. The role will contribute to supporting research students/clinicians.
We are looking for someone with:
1. An interest in working with people with psychosis and their carers and/or family members
2. Good core clinical skills, including familiarity with assessing, formulating and treating psychosis
3. An interest in therapeutic group work and team reflective practice
4. An aptitude for working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
5. The ability to work creatively alongside colleagues to develop and deliver a service strategy for family interventions.

Essential
6. Formal qualification in Systemic Family Therapy
7. Accreditation (or working towards accreditation) with the relevant professional body, including through non-professional route (the position would be offered at a band 6 until accredited)

8. Previous mental health qualification Clin. Psych., RMN, Dip. SW., Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Mental Health
9. Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate or equivalent experience
10. Supervision qualification, in the relevant therapeutic modality
