Job Description
This is a great opportunity to join the Eurofins Food Testing Chemistry team as a Laboratory Analyst. The purpose of this role is to complete to the required quality standards the extraction and analysis of samples for all food chemistry, contaminants and environmental methods using appropriate techniques. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00–16:00.
Responsibilities
* Prepare, extract and analyse food samples in accordance with standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.
* Prepare calibration and quality standards to check method and instrument performance.
* Report and / or calculate results in accordance with methods of analysis.
* Plot and act upon quality control data produced per batch.
* Maintain turnaround time at >99%, ensuring daily targets are achieved.
* Maintain stock levels of consumable items for methods being undertaken.
* Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
* Ensure UK health and safety legislation is maintained and help to keep the working environment clean and tidy, with attention to maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment.
* Ensure personal protective equipment is worn in accordance with Health & Safety policy.
* Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
* Assist in meeting the requirements of the UKAS 17025 accreditation standard by operating best practice.
* Participate in developmental training as required in compliance with Company standards.
* Promote a professional image of the Company and comply with Equal Opportunities and Harassment Policies at all times, including work-related events outside normal hours.
* Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Security Regulations.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of UKAS.
* Good laboratory skills and practices. Experience can be gained through higher education projects.
* Science degree; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
* Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Maths and English at GCSE C or above or equivalent.
