Our Client based in Rochester is seeking a Test Engineer Job Types: Full-time, Permanent – onsite no hybrid working Hours: 39 hours per week – flexible between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday to Friday Overtime: available when required, paid at time and a half in the week and on Saturday Salary: Salary based on ability and experience / disclosed on application Benefits: 26 days pa, BH, rises with service Company pension contribution up to 10% by the employer Ave 6% annual bonus – company profit-related bonus On-site parking Uniform Excellent working conditions As part of a team, the Test Engineer will be responsible for mechanical and electrical testing of completed projects. Test Engineer - Duties and Responsibilities Full ownership of mechanical and electrical testing of electrical panels (metering solutions), including insulation resistance, secondary injections, configuration of various devices, etc. Full ownership of test area; Providing input to test schedule. Testing documentation and protocols. Coordination of all testing phases; Performing witness acceptance tests. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure testing objectives are met to budget and on time. Identify and lead testing risk and put control in place to mitigate. Run EHS (Environment, health and safety) in connection with testing of projects. Support and assist the management team to supervise the progress of works and ensure that the testing targets are met and effect remedial action where required. Make sure technical standards are maintained in all aspects of testing work in order to ensure safe and successful project implementation. Occasional support with commissioning works at customers' premises. Test Engineer - Skills and Attributes Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required. Experience working in a similar role/ environment is advantageous. Relevant testing qualification is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving ability and an engineering curiosity attitude. Knowledge of the power industry, high voltage transmission and distribution networks. Knowledge of precision high-accuracy metering is advantageous (CoP1, CoP2). Ability to interpret and use project documentation, including electrical schematics. Experience in SCADA, control systems and communication protocols advantageous. Experience in programming of switches & routers, integration and interface with other communications systems advantageous.
