Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D or 1 year L&D plus Mother/Baby experience, and active WA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities Position is in a Labor and Delivery unit of a Level II Trauma Center at a short-term acute care facility
The L&D unit has 32 staffed beds and averages over 300 births per month
Typical diagnoses and procedures include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&Cs, PPTL, inductions, cervical ripening, antepartum observations, placental abnormalities, suboxone conversion, labor triage, fetal surveillance, IV hydration, cerclage procedures, and water births
Uses Epic charting system with OBIX/Stork; 1 year Epic experience required
Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00–07:30
No on-call required
Clinicians are expected to float within scope to meet facility needs
Scrubs are provided
Free parking available in employee lot
Primary responsibilities include all aspects of Labor and Delivery nursing including antepartum and postpartum care, monitoring fetal wellbeing, assisting with deliveries, and supporting a variety of birthing procedures
Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
First-time travelers are accepted
Holidays may be required depending on unit needs
All requested time off must be provided before signing the contract
No mandatory modules required prior to start
Requirements Active WA or compact RN license; pending licenses accepted with proof of application
Minimum 2 years L&D experience or 1 year L&D with Mother/Baby experience
At least 2 completed travel assignments required
1 year Epic experience required
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility
Travelers cannot have more than one DUI on record
Applicants who have worked for the facility must have a 1-year separation before returning
