Electrical Technicians – Workshop & Field Service
Location: West Horndon (covering sites across the UK, primarily the Southeast)

About the Role
An established and growing engineering services provider is seeking experienced Electrical Technicians to join their team as Workshop and Field Service Engineers.
This is a permanent role based in West Horndon, with travel to various client sites across the UK, mainly within the southeast region. It offers a diverse and hands-on workload, supporting installations, maintenance, and repairs in commercial and heavy industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical systems across commercial and heavy industrial settings.
* Perform routine testing and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with manufacturer and regulatory standards.
* Rewire and upgrade systems to a high standard, adhering to building codes and safety regulations.
* Install and commission electrical systems in accordance with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Provide accurate fault reports, professional advice, and customer-focused service.
* Support and lead planned projects, shutdowns, and outages when required.
* Deliver excellent customer service and maintain clear communication with clients and colleagues.
* Participate in a 1-in-4 callout rota and be willing to work away from home when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Electrical Indentured Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in fault finding, installation, maintenance, and commissioning.
* City & Guilds 2360, 2382 (18th Edition), and 2391 (Inspection & Testing) qualifications.
* Good understanding of IEE Regulations and relevant health & safety standards.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
* Full (preferably clean) UK driving licence.
* Able to pass security clearance checks.
* Previous experience in heavy engineering or industrial environments is essential.
Desirable Skills
* CompEx (1–4) qualification.
* Experience within power generation, including prime movers and balance of plant (BOP).
* Knowledge of high-voltage systems, trace heating, motor installation/testing, and electrical actuator testing.
* Physically fit with a flexible and positive outlook.
