We have an exciting role on offer within our Economic Growth service as a Digital & Tech Economy Lead.
Middlesbrough Council’s Economic Growth Service is seeking a proactive and experienced officer who has significant experience in working with and supporting the Digital Tech Sector to contribute to the town’s regeneration and the growth of this key business sector.
Based at our modern Fountain Court offices, you will work within a dynamic, supportive team dedicated to delivering the Council’s vision and the Mayor’s priorities.
Key Responsibilities: -
* Undertake business engagement activities and host relevant events to support the growth of this sector.
* Network and build relationships with digital businesses, partners and support providers to support the next generation of businesses in this field. Ensuring that Middlesbrough’s commercial facilities remain connected and promoted to the digital tech community requirements.
* Work with strategic partners to deliver a range of business support solutions aligned to Middlesbrough’s digital tech sector.
* Coordinate economic intelligence around this sector to support evidence-based decision making, helping to identify gaps and trends and infrastructure requirements
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across Regeneration and the wider Council to share insight and deliver service objectives.
About You: -
* Digital and Tech background with experience in this sector to be able to engage effectively and work closely with business owners and strategic partners operating in this field.
* Strong understanding of regeneration principles, digital tech business structures and the needs of startup and growing businesses in this sector.
* Knowledge of local economic conditions and political context.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship management skills.
* Self motivated, proactive, able to work at pace both independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible, enthusiastic and committed to supporting Middlesbrough’s economic growth.
