The role
As a Plant Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of a team managing the control of work, operations, maintenance, and upgrades to both historic and modern complex systems. You’ll also contribute to the development of a new facility designed to meet modern infrastructure standards and future operational needs.
Day-to-day, you’ll contribute to the delivery of physical modifications and engineering solutions that support the UK’s submarine programmes—making a meaningful impact on national defence and advancing your career in a high-stakes, high-reward environment.
1. Authoring nuclear safety documentation to capture the status of facility plant and assets
2. Managing implementation of activities on site, liaising with stakeholders and guiding nuclear safety requirements
3. Controlling master documentation for nuclear safety management arrangements
4. Implementing and managing construction activities, modifications, and improvements to nuclear facilities and assets
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Plant Engineer
5. A questioning attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving
6. Familiarity with high-hazard industries such as electrical distribution or civil construction - Desirable
Qualifications for the Plant Engineer
7. Relevant STEM degree, or HNC qualification with significant experience in a relevant engineering discipline
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
