About the Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (internally known as a Maintenance Fitter), you will be part of our hands-on in-house team keeping the plant running by ensuring equipment operates smoothly. From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will work hands-on with specialist machinery to keep operations efficient and reliable. You will have a varied role, using maintenance skills across fitting, fabrication, welding and service engineering.
Hours of Work
4 on, 4 off pattern (2 “earlies” and 2 “lates”). Earliest shift: 6:30am–6:30pm; late shift: 11:00am–11:00pm. You will also work one 8.5-hour Saturday shift in each 8-week period (10:00am–7:00pm).
About You
You will be a mechanically biased engineer with experience in manufacturing/factory environments, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. Safety is a priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working practices and have strong health and safety knowledge. You’ll enjoy a busy, hands-on environment and be flexible to adapt to changing priorities to keep the factory running efficiently. The role is physically demanding, so you should be fit enough to perform your duties.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Diagnostics experience of hydraulics, pneumatics and drive-chain fault finding
* Bearing fitting and alignment experience
Desirable
* Hands-on apprentice training programme completed
* HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
* Knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations
* Arc and MIG welding / basic fabrication
* Electrical control systems experience
