Job Title: Project Manager – Water Capital Delivery
Location: Kent
Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on skills and experience
Role Overview
As a Project Manager in Water Capital Delivery, you will lead infrastructure projects with budgets up to £2 million, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes. These projects will focus on enhancing water supply and distribution systems through innovative engineering solutions, asset upgrades, and operational improvements.
This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of capital infrastructure projects—from concept to completion—supporting Southern Water’s strategic goals and reducing reliance on external consultants. Your work will directly contribute to improving water resilience, efficiency, and service delivery across our network.
Please note you will be based at our Burham site which is approximately 15 min drive from Chatham
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and deliver water infrastructure projects aligned with regulatory standards and company objectives.
2. Manage all phases of project delivery including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
3. Drive improvements in water infrastructure through asset upgrades, network enhancements, and process optimisation.
4. Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure smooth delivery and compliance.
5. Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.
6. Monitor financial performance and ensure projects meet budgetary targets and KPIs.
7. Balance cost, quality, and time constraints to deliver sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
About You
8. Proven experience managing capital infrastructure projects, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
9. Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and experience with NEC contracts or similar frameworks.
10. Financially astute with a track record of managing budgets and delivering value.
11. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and navigating complex project environments.
12. Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and business case development skills.
13. Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
