Job Overview
Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear power stations, and future pipeline of projects. Requires providing civil expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and team management to deliver work packages effectively.
- Coordinate and communicate complex engineering problems between project stakeholders.
- Provide technical review and respond to site queries and requested changes in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment to support contractor activities on HPC site.
- Conduct and review analysis of structures carried out in FEM packages (e.g., Ansys).
- Provide technical oversight of reinforcement detailers; review detailing models and drawings.
- Provide expert oversight and technical direction to teams completing the design of reinforced concrete structures.
- Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Support the business development team during the tendering process for future projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered with ICE, IStructE, or equivalent experience with willingness to obtain.
- Experience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software.
- Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design.
- Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and Industry Standards (Eurocodes, British Standard, and ETC‑C applicable for HPC/SZC).
- Proactive with ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team.
- Agile, self‑motivated, focused on improving personal and team performance, and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges.
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects and ability to deliver high‑quality work packages on schedule.
- Experience in highly regulated UK industry, e.g. nuclear.
