JOB SUMMARY
Shelbourne Specialist Care Centre is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Chef to provide a comprehensive, high quality catering service, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents and is achieved within budget.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
* Plans and delivers a varied menu of nutritious, well-balanced, attractive meals that meet residents individual needs
* Makes sure there are enough kitchen staff on hand and arranges staff schedules to accommodate demands.
* Supervises the kitchen team's usage of equipment, COSHH, cleaning supplies, and food handing and storage, making sure all regulations are followed.
* Takes part in the supervision and reviews of culinary personnel and helps them reach their on goals.
* Assists with the induction and orientation of new members of the team
* Carries out stock takes and orders catering consumables from approved suppliers within agreed budgets
* Establishes and upholds an efficient cleaning routine
* Ensures temperature testing of foods and storage areas are carried out as required and records are maintained
* These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities within their spheres of responsibility and competence
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* NVQ Level 2 in Catering
* Food Hygiene Regulations
* Operations of Kitchen Equipment
* COSHH / Health and Safety
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £14.00 per hour
