Nursery Manager — Bojangles NurseryBaschurch, Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY4 2HL£37,400 – £44,200 per annum | Full-time | PermanentPerformance bonus after probation | 28 days holiday | Pension*THE ROLE*We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to take full operational responsibility for Bojangles Nursery, an established and Ofsted Good-rated setting based within Walford & North Shropshire College, Baschurch, Shrewsbury.The current manager/owner is taking a step back from day to day activities. This means you will run the nursery with genuine autonomy — leading the team, driving the setting towards Outstanding, and shaping the future of the setting. You will be supported by the owner but not micro-managed.This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants the experience of running their own nursery, backed by an owner who will invest in your success, without the financial risk of ownership. A performance-based bonus is available after a successful probationary period.*WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR** Full day-to-day management of the nursery, including staffing, operations, parent relationships and admissions* Leading, developing and managing a team of staff — including recruitment, appraisals, rotas, training and performance management* Financial management: funded hours claims and monthly reporting to the owner* Maintaining Ofsted compliance with the ambition to achieve Outstanding, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and overseeing the self-evaluation and improvement plan* EYFS curriculum oversight — ensuring observations, assessments and planning are of consistently high quality across all rooms* Building and maintaining occupancy through marketing, community engagement and excellent parent communication* Managing all external relationships: Ofsted, local authority, external professionals, suppliers and third-party providers*WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR*_Essential:_* Level 3 Early Years qualification minimum (Level 5+ preferred)* Proven experience managing an early years setting with operational and financial responsibility* Track record of achieving or maintaining Good/Outstanding Ofsted ratings* Experience of recruitment, performance management and HR procedures* Confident with budgets and local authority funded hours claims* Current Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Lead training (or willingness to obtain immediately)* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply immediately)_Desirable:_* Level 5/6 qualification, EYPS, EYT or QTS* SENCO qualification* Experience with nursery management software (e.g. Tapestry)* Marketing and social media experience*WHAT WE OFFER** Salary of £37,400 – £44,200 depending on experience* Performance bonus following successful 6-month probation* Full autonomy to run the nursery your way, with strategic support from the owner* An established, Ofsted Good-rated setting with strong occupancy and a committed team already in place* Supported handover period with the outgoing owner* Investment in your professional development and the nursery's facilities* 28 days annual leave including bank holidays, increasing with service* Pension scheme*THE RIGHT PERSON WILL…*Think commercially as well as educationally — you care about occupancy, revenue and staff retention as much as child development and safeguarding.Be self-directed — you don't need to be managed.
