We’re currently supporting a leading engineering organisation in the offshore energy sector in their search for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in high-reliability mechanical design for harsh environments. This is an initial 12-month contract working on the design and development of subsea connector systems used in offshore applications. The role will start fully onsite in Cumbria while you get up to speed, moving to a hybrid model (3 days onsite) once established.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop high-performance subsea connector solutions
* Produce 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings
* Perform mechanical calculations and FEA analysis
* Support pressure-rated and sealed mechanical designs
* Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust technical solutions
* Ensure designs meet industry standards and safety requirements
Required Experience
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
* Strong experience using 3D CAD and FEA tools
* Experience producing technical engineering drawings
* Good understanding of mechanical fundamentals and calculations
* Knowledge of sealing technologies and pressure-rated systems
* Familiarity with standards such as API, ISO, ASME, IEC or IEEE
