Purpose of Role
We are looking for a Maintenance Handy Person to join our in-house maintenance team in Fareham.
Job Description
This position is dedicated to our Facilities Management contract with the Office for National Statistics, covering offices and a warehouse storage facility. You would be responsible for undertaking reactive and PPM maintenance across carpentry, fabric, plumbing, and building maintenance.
Responsibilities
Tasks could include changing locks, fabric repairs, door/ceiling/carpet repairs, leak detection/repair, unblocking toilets/sinks, water temperature checks, replacement water boilers, flushing, servicing and/or replacement of thermostatic mixer valves, water sampling, and much more. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to deliver high-quality reactive repairs across multiple disciplines.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
* Proven maintenance background in commercial environments
* Qualified in relevant trades (Carpentry, plastering, decorating, or equivalent)
* Strong, demonstrable competencies in building services trades
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* An excellent understanding of Health and Safety
* Competent in the use of tablets or computers and data handling, including PDA & Microsoft Office
