The Senior CAD Technician will aid Design Engineers and Projects in the delivery of CAD, BIM & Engineering Deliverables, with technical responsibility for projects under their remit. The Senior CAD Technician will join the wider design team within the Energy business unit. Following the ‘One Murphy’ approach, we’re able to deliver all aspects of the projects we work on. Murphy has designed, constructed, and commissioned projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE and Ørsted, on both transmission and distribution networks within the Energy sector. What you will be doing: Preparation of project design drawings, including all site drawings, route plans, working areas, detailed long sections/cross sections, point cloud interrogation & data extraction, etc Preparation of project as-built drawings. Formulation of deliverable packages and liaise with document control teams. Interrogation/preparation of concept/design pipework and/or civil 3D models Process site survey data to produce CAD models. Process clean up and output point cloud survey data, utilising feature extraction where required. Ensure that drawings are prepared, stored, issued and archived in accordance with company procedures via internal CAD Data Management software Ensure that chargeable work can be evaluated by the preparation of adequate timesheet records Support adoption of the Project CDE and ensure document control measures are upheld Take part in roles assign within a BEP and work to BS EN ISO 19650 Creation of project federated models and ensure compliance. Who we are looking for: Previous experience within a CAD role or similar Demonstrative experience with Construction or Civil Engineering Competent with AutoCAD, Revit, Civils 3D Awareness of REVIT/SolidWorks/Navis Works or other 3D design packages.
