Our clients based near Portsmouth, are a manufacturing company specialising in the innovative design and production of electrical/electronics components. They design and build their own production equipment, and this is a critical element of their engineering and manufacturing process. As a result, they are seeking a BOM Procurement Engineer to join their growing team. Main duties and responsibilities Create BOM’s of work produced for projects and loading this into the companies ERP system, IFS. Maintain BOM’s with accurate information. Update BOM’s in accordance with company change request procedures. Ensure the timely and costly sourcing of all parts, components, materials, equipment, goods, and services required to support the projects. Be able to source alternatives material, parts, components, and equipment that aligns with project requirements. Obtaining quotes and fully utilise the ERP system for raising purchase requests. Liaise with supplier and subcontractor for any issues that may occur and feedback to the project team. Liaise with the QA team/suppliers in instances of supplier quality issues. Ensure Company technical requirements and relevant professional standards and codes of practice are maintained and adhered to To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your manager may assign to you from time to time. Qualifications & experience Good Knowledge of MRP systems & how they work Experience in an engineering environment is desirable 2 years’ experience in similar role Knowledge and Skills Good knowledge of common manufacturing materials An understanding of common manufacturing methods Be able to read an interpret engineering drawings Ability to communicate clearly and professionally Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite Benefits 25 days holidays plus bank/public/Christmas holidays Discretionary bonus Company pension scheme Life cover for 3x salary Employee assistance program
