Head of warehouse & transport operations

We're supporting a rapidly growing national consumer services business as they invest heavily in their logistics infrastructure and prepare for the next phase of growth.

As Head of Strategic Warehouse & Transport Operations, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation's warehousing and transport network, helping transition the business towards a predominantly in-house logistics model whilst driving efficiency, compliance and service excellence.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a logistics function at a pivotal stage of growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead warehousing and transport operations nationally
• Support the development of the future logistics strategy
• Drive the transition from outsourced to in-house logistics
• Oversee fleet operations, utilisation and compliance
• Hold responsibility for Operator Licence compliance
• Ensure adherence to DVSA regulations and industry standards
• Improve delivery performance, route efficiency and service levels
• Develop scalable logistics infrastructure to support growth
• Lead and develop operational management teams
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the network

What We're Looking For

• CPC Qualified (National or International)
• Significant transport and warehousing leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of Operator Licence requirements
• Experience managing multi-site or multi-vehicle operations
• Understanding of last-mile delivery networks
• Experience with transport management systems and route optimisation software
• Strong commercial and operational awareness
• Ability to operate strategically whilst remaining hands-on

• £70,000 - £80,000 Basic Salary
