Job Title: Cloud Software Developer
Company Overview: The Airedale Group are the leading market design, installation, and maintenance provider for commercial kitchens in the UK hospitality and food service industry. We work alongside clients from the initial designs through to bespoke fabrication and installation. Coupled with the largest body of professional maintenance engineers in the country, we offer the complete end-to-end solution to our extensive client base. We have long-standing relationships with many of the biggest multi-site brands in the UK.
Job Overview: We are looking for talented and motivated Cloud Software Developers (front-end, back-end, full-stack) to help us deliver and scale modern, cloud-based applications that support internal operations and enhance our client services. This is an exciting opportunity to work on greenfield and near-greenfield projects, helping to define development practices, pipelines, and standards from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based software solutions using C#, ASP.NET Core, MAUI, Blazor, MVC, AKS, CosmosDB, and SQL Server.
* Create and size technical tickets based on user stories using JIRA, and participate in Agile ceremonies including refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
* Discuss and help prioritise BAU, technical debt, and project-based work items.
* Build clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with solution designs and development standards.
* Write and optimise SQL and NoSQL queries as part of application development.
* Integrate third-party components including APIs, databases, and cloud services.
* Identify and log bugs or tech debt during development; raise and prioritise them with the team.
* Upgrade outdated packages and libraries to avoid deprecated functionality.
* Test system changes to confirm new functionality aligns with existing behaviours and user requirements.
* Gather and respond to feedback from users and stakeholders to improve system performance and usability.
* Conduct and contribute to code reviews, offering and accepting constructive feedback to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
* Follow team-defined deployment processes for building and releasing software across environments.
* Use version control tools (e.g. Git) effectively as part of day-to-day workflow.
* Contribute to and help shape engineering standards, pipelines, tools, and ways of working — especially in greenfield or modernised areas.
* Participate in business and ad-hoc meetings to support wider project delivery.
* Share knowledge with teammates to solve technical challenges collaboratively.
* Demonstrate strong coding comprehension — able to pick up others’ work and make changes without disrupting stability.
Experience Required:
* Relevant experience in cloud software development using C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET Core, and Azure services.
* Working knowledge of Blazor, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and front-end integration patterns.
* Experience working in Agile development teams and practices.
* Familiarity with Git, unit testing frameworks, and modern development practices.
* Comfort using tools like JIRA to manage and track work.
The Airedale Group is expanding rapidly, employing circa 700 people across multiple locations in the UK. This is a fantastic time to be joining the business with opportunities for career progression.
