Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Courier Driver to join our team based in Norfolk and Waveney (Kings Lynn Area) due to continued growth.
The main purpose of the courier driver role is to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of diagnostic samples, goods and equipment. The role requires excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards. You will use electronic and paper-based forms of recording tasks and items delivered and collected, ensuring all courier tasks are carried out correctly and to scheduled times. The role may involve heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, using a tail lift and loading/unloading and moving of roll cages.
The role will drive vehicles from small vans up to 3.5 tonne Luton vans, which can be driven on the category B part of the UK driving licence.
This role is a full-time position, working 5 days out of 7 (times are anywhere between 07:00-18:00, 40 hrs per week).
Responsibilities
* To carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
* To complete digital and manual documentation required by legislation and organisational procedures.
* To maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
* To ensure all items are kept safe and secure.
* To comply with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
* To act as customer contact at delivery points and relay relevant information to the operations office.
* To complete vehicle checks prior to use, and to notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
* To always act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users.
To Be Considered For This Opportunity, You Will Need
* A full UK Manual Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
* The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
* Must be able to use a PDA (training will be provided).
* To plan routes effectively.
