We’re looking for a Project Support Officer to join our HR Shared Services team as we deliver a major review and re‑procurement of our HR and Payroll system across the Council and partner organisations.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high‑profile programme that will shape how HR and Payroll services are delivered in the future.
About the role
As our Project Support Officer, you’ll provide coordination, analysis and engagement support to ensure the smooth delivery of the programme up to contract award.
You’ll be involved in:
* Supporting engagement with HR, Payroll and related services to understand current processes, challenges and future needs.
* Coordinating and documenting workshops, interviews and user engagement sessions across multiple organisations.
* Assisting with analysing and writing business, functional and non‑functional requirements.
* Helping to develop options appraisals, specifications and procurement documentation.
* Supporting market engagement and supplier briefings.
* Keeping project plans, risk registers, issue logs and action trackers up to date.
About you
We’re looking for someone who has:
Essential experience:
* Experience supporting projects involving systems review, service improvement or organisational change.
* Demonstrable experience of gathering and documenting business or user requirements.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, track actions and maintain accurate records.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Confident and effective stakeholder engagement skills.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Desirable experience:
* Experience in local government, shared services or the education sector.
* Understanding of procurement or contract review processes.
* Familiarity with HR, Payroll or workforce systems.
