About Russett School
At Russett School, we prepare our learners for life by prioritizing skills needed to reach their full potential. Our specialist curriculum emphasizes communication strategies and life skills, providing enriching and safe environments that promote independence and wellbeing for a happy, fulfilled future.
Russett School is a specialist setting for pupils aged 2 to 19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and/or Complex Learning Needs. We are part of Shaw Education Trust. Our bespoke curriculum is tailored specifically for learners with SLD, addressing their cognitive and learning impairments, and supporting additional needs such as communication and interaction difficulties.
Students learn in mixed ability classes of around 11 pupils, supported by a team of four adults, including a class teacher and three Teaching Assistants.

Working Hours and Safeguarding
Working hours are 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days, totaling 39 weeks per year.
