Description
We’re excited to welcome a talented Legal Counsel to our dynamic in‑house Legal and Contracts team. This pivotal role supports our UK businesses by providing legal guidance across a wide range of commercial activities – from project bidding and procurement to contract execution and dispute resolution.
What You’ll Be Doing
 * Supporting bidding, negotiation, drafting, and dispute resolution for major train manufacturing, signalling, construction and railway technology projects, with a focus on manufacturing and maintenance contracts, PPPs, JVs and supply‑chain contracts.
 * Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to assess and mitigate legal, commercial, and reputational risks, working closely with contract managers and operational stakeholders.
 * Supporting the delivery of training, templates, tools and best practices across the UK.
 * Providing pragmatic, business‑focused legal advice on regulation, construction, intellectual property, data protection, corporate law, M&A, procurement, real estate, litigation and employment matters.
 * Ensuring compliance with UK laws and regulations across commercial, corporate and regulatory matters; working with the compliance team to uphold ethical conduct.
What You’ll Bring
 * UK qualified lawyer with a Law degree or equivalent.
 * 3+ years PQE from a highly ranked law firm or in‑house legal team.
 * Strong knowledge of English law and procurement practice.
 * Sound risk management and commercial acumen.
 * Familiarity with UK corporate governance and documentation.
 * Collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills and a drive to learn.
 * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 * Ability to produce high‑quality, accurate work with limited support.
 * Strong team player who can build and maintain professional relationships.
 * Effective persuasion and influencing skills.
