Working Hours: 38 hours per week; Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 12:50

Backer Heatrod Ltd is seeking a proactive Technical Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine engineering expertise with commercial insight in a role that supports both internal and external sales activities.
About The Company:
Backer Heatrod is a leading UK manufacturer of electric heating elements and industrial heating solutions. As part of the global NIBE Element Group, we design and produce both standard and bespoke heating products for a wide range of industries including process, food & beverage, and chemical sectors.
What You'll Do:
1. Act as a technical point of contact for customer enquiries and projects
2. Deliver tailored proposals and presentations
3. Identify customer needs and engineer bespoke solutions
4. Develop new business and nurture existing relationships
5. Collaborate with engineering and production teams
6. Support product development and quality assurance
7. Maintain accurate CRM records and produce sales reports
8. Travel to customer sites across the UK (pool car provided)
What We're Looking For:
9. Essential:HNC or Degree in EngineeringExperience in customer-facing sales rolesFamiliarity with ISO 9001 standardsStrong IT skills (MS Office, CRM systems)Excellent communication and time management skillsCommercial awareness and ability to manage multiple projectsDesirable:Mechanical or Electrical engineering backgroundExperience in lean manufacturing or 5SKnowledge of heating element industrySolidWorks proficiencyProject management experience
