Role: Brick Saw Operator
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Chesterton, Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 6BN
Pay: Competitive rates of pay available subject to candidates experience and skill set. Rate of pay will increase following satisfactory performance.
Working hours: 8:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday with two 30 min breaks. 40hrs a week. Overtime available during the week paid at 1.5T.

Thorp Precast are a well-established manufacturing company working within the precast construction industry. We specialise in the design, manufacture and erection of architectural cladding and structural precast concrete components.
Due to continued growth and investment, we are looking to appoint a Brick Cutter to strengthen our manufacturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a stable position where they can be responsible for their work area and work independently.
Applicants will:
· Be cutting various materials on the cutting saw; brick, ceramic tiles, stone, or concrete.
· Organise cut product according to size and prepare for delivery to the required factory.
· Liaise with production staff and factory managers.
· Have excellent attention to detail with reference to quality.
· Be able to use measuring equipment and various hand and power tools.
· Reset saw jigs.
· Interpret technical drawings.
· Conduct stock checks.
· Have good cleanliness and housekeeping skills. Regular saw cleaning duties will be a part of the role.
· Have the ability to work as part of a team and to use their own initiative.
· Conduct other duties as and when required.
The successful candidate will possess a hardworking and dedicated attitude and be willing to go the extra mile when required for the business. Previous experience will be advantageous but not required.
