Head of Data Science
Salary: Up to £125k + bonus
Location: London (Hybrid)
This is a newly created leadership role, designed to bring focus, structure, and strategic direction to an already established ML function, while also shaping a growing GenAI product capability.
You will lead a team responsible for production machine learning systems powering core customer experiences, including recommendations, personalisation, and search.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and evolve a production ML function (recommendations, search, personalisation)
* Own the Data Science roadmap and prioritisation of model investment
* Build and scale generative AI capability across product features
* Define best practices for model evaluation, quality, and responsible AI
* Partner with Engineering and MLOps on deployment and operationalisation
* Mentor and develop a team of Data Scientists
What We’re Looking For
* Experience leading Data Science / ML teams in a product-led business
* Strong background in production machine learning systems
* Exposure to generative AI / LLM-based product development
* Strong technical judgement and ability to operate strategically
* Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering
