Description Applications are invited from all suitably qualified staff for a number of B3 Senior Civil Engineer posts in Transport Scotland. These posts are open to existing B2 Graduate Civil Engineers who are expected to be Chartered within the next 12 months. If successful at interview, you will be held on a reserve list until successful in gaining chartered status. If you are unsuccessful in gaining chartered status within the 12 month reserve period, our offer of a B3 post will be withdrawn. Pay Supplement This post attracts an Engineering pay supplement of £7862 per annum. Responsibilities To help us deliver our responsibilities we are seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants to fill a number of senior grade civil engineering posts in the Roads and Major Projects Directorates. Successful applicants will be allocated posts that most closely appear to match their skills and experience. These are exciting and challenging roles. Responsibilities Qualifications You must hold a suitable degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, and be a chartered member of an appropriate professional body and registered with the Engineering Council. Success Profile Technical / Professional Skills: Experience in roads and transport schemes in at least two of the following: • scheme appraisal & analysis • scheme design & preparation • statutory procedures • procurement • construction • operation and maintenance You can find out more about the skills required here: Attributes for professionally qualified membership | Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Membership - The Institution of Structural Engineers Experience: 1. You must be able to demonstrate strong Programme and Project management skills. 2. You must be able to demonstrate strong Financial Management skills. Behaviour 1. Location This post is based in Glasgow, with hybrid working in line with current Transport Scotland policies. You will be expected to be office based twice per week, pro rata.
