We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing Energy team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering primary substation projects, supporting works from early planning stages through to successful completion. You will provide direction across the pre‑construction phase, establish effective delivery methods and maintain close control of project expenditure. Your leadership will ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme expectations.
Responsibilities
* Taking responsibility for allocated projects to ensure completion in accordance with safety, technical and legislative standards.
* Carrying out site visits and attending project initiation meetings, tracking performance and providing consistent updates.
* Working closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders to achieve critical programme milestones.
* Implementing project execution plans aligned to agreed delivery strategies.
* Promoting collaborative working practices and maintaining strong proactive relationships with clients.
* Providing visible leadership on site and encouraging a culture of accountability and high performance.
Requirements
* Experience working under NEC3 contracts is essential.
* Solid planning and programming capability.
* Knowledge of substation construction, high‑voltage electrical systems and associated civil engineering works will be highly advantageous.
* Proven track record delivering multi‑million‑pound schemes, including financial reporting and forecasting responsibilities.
* Confidence when engaging with clients and leading discussions; ability to represent the business professionally.
* A full UK driving licence is required.
* Experience relating to NRSWA is essential.
