Chemical Analyst
Location: Deeside (full time on site)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Until 31/12/2026
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
PAYE Rate: £14.84 per hour
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Chemical Analyst to join a busy, regulated manufacturing site in Deeside on a long‑term contract. This role will support manufacturing and project activities through hands‑on analytical chemistry testing, working within a quality‑driven laboratory environment.
This is a practical role suited to an analyst who is comfortable getting involved across a range of techniques and activities, including HPLC, AAS and general wet chemistry, alongside project and ad‑hoc testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine analytical chemistry testing to support in‑process analysis and finished product release
* Operate, maintain and support calibration of analytical equipment including HPLC, AAS and related laboratory instrumentation
* Follow validated methods and approved laboratory techniques, completing calculations and documentation accurately
* Support project and request‑based testing, alongside BAU laboratory activities
* Initiate and support out‑of‑specification (OOS) investigations where required
* Trend, analyse and report laboratory data to support continuous improvement
* Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS and quality system requirements at all times
* Maintain laboratory metrics, documentation and waste disposal in line with site standards
* Utilise laboratory systems (e.g. SAP) to support product release and data management
Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory within a regulated manufacturing environment
* Hands‑on experience with techniques such as HPLC, AAS and physical laboratory testing
* Understanding of GMP, cGMP or GLP environments
* Ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced laboratory while managing multiple priorities
* Strong attention to detail and clear written documentation skills
* Experience supporting project work alongside routine testing is advantageous
Qualifications:
* Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
