Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speciality Physiotherapist - Rotational, based at University Hospital Ayr and Biggart Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours
36 hours per week; there is an on-call commitment associated with this role. Part-time and job share hours will be considered for this post.

What you will do
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the South Ayrshire Physiotherapy Service as a rotational Band 6 Physiotherapist on a permanent basis. The newly developed post initially comprises 5 rotations within 3 Teams. These are Unscheduled Care, acute frailty, Elective Orthopaedic Inpatients, Vascular Outreach Rehabilitation, Older Adults inpatient and community rehabilitation. Further rotations may be added at a later date.
The rotations are all based in South Ayrshire at either University Hospital Ayr or Biggart Hospital in Prestwick.
This post will be ideal for Band 5 candidates looking to develop within their career to gain experience of a more senior clinical role without committing to a permanent specialism.
You will be responsible for delivering highly skilled physiotherapy to patients in the respective clinical areas. You will act as a senior clinical decision maker, leading complex care and discharge planning and delivering rehabilitation to ensure patients are optimally rehabilitated and discharged effectively and efficiently. Community and lone working will form a facet of some rotations. You will make onward referral to other services as required. You will also support the development of less experienced, unregistered staff and students within the team.
In turn, you will be supported to develop into the role and responsibilities of a Band 6 clinician and of the relevant specialist skills of each rotation.
Successful candidates will be passionate about empowering patients to achieve their goals and to remain as independent and active as possible. Participation in service improvement is expected and encouraged.

We offer an active in-service and appraisal programme and peer support by therapists with widespread clinical skills.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post
* Current HCPC registration
* Variety of experience across physiotherapy rotations or roles relevant to the senior rotational physiotherapist role
* An interest in community rehabilitation, falls and frailty
* Undertaken training and clinical improvement relevant to the role
* Experience of supporting other members of a team
