Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Test Engineer based in a number of our offices around the UK, with opportunities to work from home. The Senior Test Engineer will:
* Lead risk-based testing across DVSA digital services within Agile teams.
* Embed quality and security early in the delivery lifecycle.
* Shape and drive consistent, effective testing practices across projects.
* Use a variety of testing tools to increase efficiency, coverage, and delivery confidence.
* Provide clear insight from testing to inform delivery and product decisions.
* Mentor and coach colleagues to strengthen testing capability.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to build confidence in quality outcomes.
Experience and Skills Needed
* Strong experience in testing across complex digital systems (legacy and cloud-based).
* Proven ability to plan, estimate, and deliver risk-based testing in Agile environments.
* Experience analysing defect trends and test outcomes to reduce risk and improve quality.
* Familiarity with frontend, API, database, accessibility, and non-functional testing.
* Ability to communicate technical risks and insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience mentoring or coaching others to improve testing practices.
* Comfortable using a variety of testing tools and working with CI/CD and development environments.
