Express Recruitment is delighted to be representing Building Service Specialists based in Nottingham who are looking to hire a Field Based Commercial Gas Engineer on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will carry out annual services and scheduled maintenance visits, complete required Gas Safety certificates, install new heating and hot water systems, rectify faults with equipment, attend reactive call‑outs to plumbing jobs on request, and work to a 1 in 7 weeks call‑out standby rota.
Due to the nature of this role, a full clean UK driving licence is essential. Candidates based in Coventry, Leicester or Birmingham will have an advantage.
They are offering a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum D.O.E, a generous benefits package including door‑to‑door overtime paid at time and a half, call‑out standby pay, a company van and fuel card, with potential on‑target earnings reaching up to £55,000 per annum.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Carry out annual and scheduled maintenance visits
* Complete Gas Certificates and relevant documents upon completion of work
* Install new heaters and hot water systems
* Troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify faults to equipment and systems
* Contact manufacturers to query technical faults and warranties for parts and materials
* Attend reactive call‑outs to plumbing jobs on request
* Work to a 1 in 7 weeks call‑out standby rota
Skills & Experience
* Time served and qualified Gas Engineer with commercial experience
* Experience working with air handling and ventilation systems
* Excellent communication skills and self‑motivated to complete work to the highest standard
* COCN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CCN1, CEN1, CPA1, CKR1, CENWAT1, G3, IPAF and PASMA qualifications are essential
* Comfortable working away from home for required service visits
