Job Title: Document Controller
Location: Norwich, NR1 4
Contract: 3 months initially, with potential extension
Rate: £14.00 per hour PAYE or £18.90 per hour PAYE Umbrella
Hours: 08:00 – 16:00
Start: ASAP (23/02 or sooner)
JML are seeking an experienced Document Controller to support a construction project.
Key Responsibilities:

Establish, maintain, and manage the project document control system (SharePoint, Viewpoint, 4P etc.)
*
Receive, log, register, and distribute all project documentation
*
Control document numbering, revision status, and version control in line with project procedures
*
Ensure drawings, specifications, technical submissions, RFIs, EWNs, and correspondence are correctly issued and tracked
*
Maintain document registers and trackers, ensuring accurate and timely updates
*
Manage transmittals to and from clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
*
Archive superseded documents and maintain a clear audit trail
*
Support project teams with document queries and ensure compliance with information management requirements
*
Assist with handover documentation, O&M manuals, and project close-out records
Key Skills / Requirements:
*
Previous experience on construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
*
Knowledge of document control systems, predominantly 4P
*
Experience as a Document Controller within construction/engineering projects
*
Strong understanding of document control procedures and workflows
*
Experience using electronic document management systems (EDMS)
*
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
*
Ability to manage high volumes of documentation to tight deadlines
*
Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
