Health & Safety Advisor – Construction (NORTHANTS)
£20M NEW BUILD AND FIT OUT | Leading Main Contractor | Multiple (x2) sites
Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking to make a real impact on a flagship construction project? We’re looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our Clients progressive and highly successful main contracting business.
Based on a major £20m refurbfit-out and part new-build project in Northamptonshire, you’ll work closely with site teams to ensure the highest safety standards across all project phases.
Your Role
As part of the SHEQ team, you’ll take an active role in promoting a positive safety culture on site and supporting teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Advising departments on Construction SHE Plans, Environmental Plans, and Traffic Management Plans
*
Liaising with other Principal Contractors and client representatives
*
Ensuring new sites are set up correctly in line with SHE requirements
*
Supporting site teams in planning future activities and updating SHE documentation
*
Leading or assisting in incident and near-miss investigations
*
Attending internal and client meetings as required
*
Conducting random drug and alcohol testing
*
Promoting company safety objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You’ll bring:

3+ years’ experience advising on Health & Safety within the construction industry
*
A NEBOSH Certificate (NEBOSH Construction preferred)
*
Ideally, membership of IOSH, IIRSM, or IRM
*
Practical, hands-on experience — not just inspections — with the confidence to advise, influence, and make sound decisions
*
A solid understanding of construction site conditions, legislation, and best practice
A background in site management or construction trades is welcomed and will be advantageous, although you must have the relevant H&S experience and qualifications too.
